ABOUT STEVEN

Steven Patterson is a husband to Rachel, dad to three incredible girls—Ellie, Abbie, and Grace—and a longtime worship leader and student pastor who loves helping the next generation know Jesus and live out their faith.

In 2018, Steven and Rachel moved their family from Houston back to Wichita Falls, Texas. It was more than a move home: Steven returned to lead the very student ministry where he gave his life to Jesus at 16 years old. Today, he serves as the Student and College Pastor at First Baptist Church Wichita Falls, investing in students and young adults in the same community that first invested in him.

Whether he’s preaching to teenagers, leading worship, equipping a ministry team, or encouraging other church leaders, Steven communicates God’s Word in a way that is biblical, practical, and easy to connect with. He loves creating moments where people can encounter Jesus, ask honest questions, and take meaningful steps forward in their faith.

Steven also travels across the country to serve at student gatherings, camps, retreats, conferences, worship events, and other ministry experiences. Wherever he goes, he brings plenty of energy, a pastor’s heart, and a deep love for the local church.

When he isn’t on a stage or hanging out with students, Steven’s favorite place to be is with Rachel and their girls. And if it’s a Friday morning and he’s home, there’s a good chance you’ll find him fishing or trying to shave a few strokes off his golf game.

At the heart of everything Steven does is one simple calling: helping people encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and follow Him wholeheartedly.
